Hi,

I am planning to set up a PVE host in a remote location. The owner of the location will provide me with internet access at one of the LAN interfaces of my host. Through this interface my host will establish a VPN tunnel through which I will be able to access the PVE installation.

My concern is the position of the "pvelocalhost" entry in /etc/hosts. I do not have an IP address yet and it is dynamic, so it may change over time. How/where do I place the "pcvelocalhost" entry in /etc/hosts?

Kind regards,
Robert

Hi,
If you have a dynamic IP you must use a Routed or NATed setup anyway.
Use the IP of the bridge for the hosts file.
