PVE7 / PBS2 - Backup Timeout (qmp command 'cont' failed - got timeout)

are you using stock PVE backups or some third-party backup provider?

other than the info requested by @fabian, please share the VM configuration qm config ID with the numerical ID of an affected VM, the full backup task log and the excerpt from the system log/journal from the time around the issue.

No guarantee it will help with the issue, but it seems you are running an outdated version, please consider upgrading to get important (security) fixes:

Hi all,


I am opening a new thread because I have been occasionally encountering a backup failure recently that happens randomly. I want to emphasize that this issue has never happened before during any backup tasks. It has only started appearing recently. Here is the exact error log I am getting:
