Pve --> Pbs / Pvestatd daemon generate "error fetching datastores - 401 Unauthorized"

Hello proxmox world,

I have 2 proxmox cluster (6 and 8). All of the Proxmox servers generate many errors like that on Proxmox server side :

Aug 30 09:57:48 pveagir1 pvestatd[3808]: ct-pbsbrio: error fetching datastores - 401 Unauthorized
Aug 30 10:02:08 pveagir1 pvestatd[3808]: proxmox-backup-client failed: Error: permission check failed.


On PBS, i have errors :

Aug 30 09:57:45 ct-pbsbrio proxmox-backup-api[115]: authentication failure; rhost=::ffff:192.168.97.87 user=backupProjPU@pbs msg=invalid credentials
Aug 30 09:57:48 ct-pbsbrio proxmox-backup-api[115]: POST /api2/json/access/ticket: 401 Unauthorized: [client [::ffff:192.168.97.87]:42172] permission check failed.

I dont understand why.


Backups are working well, script with promox-backup-client is also working well, and my PBS storage is visible on the GUI proxmox cluster


Previously, the permission of user backupProjPU@pbs on PBS Store was only DatastorePowerUser.
I upgrade the permission to DatastoreAdmin, but that dont work better.

this is the exact message you get when your password is wrong, could you please double-check if it is correct?
Oh, and also please upgrade your pbs instance

Yes it is obviously a problem of rights, but since all backups works, it is a bit strange.

Anyway, I started to install a new PBS in version 3 and there are no more errors
