Hello all,
I have 2 Servers which I intend do use on a costumer.
I currently have Hyper-V Free instaled but am getting into a hole lot of problems because they are in a Workgroup and not in a Domain, specially because of certificates and replication.
I thought of instaling PVE and configuring HA cluster but from what I've read that it needs shared storage which is something that is not available at this costumer.
My question is what is the best option to install and config PVE to have it like this:
Existing Hardware:
- 1 x Router port (VLAN Capable) connected to Switch
- 1 x Switch with no VLANs configured and supported (Not Layer 2) connected to the Router and the Servers
- 2 x Servers 16 Cores + 128Gb Ram + 240Gb SSD for System + 4,5TB SAS in RAID 5 for VMs
Software:
- Only Windows Machines:
- Windows 10 - For Remote Desktop to Servers (Jump Machine - Like Cyberark)
- Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016
- SQL Servers 2012, 2012 Express, 2016
- IIS for Web Server
- 1 of the Windows Server is to be isolated from the others and can only be accessed thru another Remote desktop machine on the same network
- Replicate VMs (I'll have both servers with half-half vms working and If 1 goes down the other one takes over the rest of the VMs - Automatically if possible - On Hyper-V this is done manually which doesn't bother me anyway)
- All in workgroup, no domain.
- All the servers can still acess the Internet (at least one of them will be receiving requests from the internet - Web Page)
Can I get some input on this?
Thanks and sorry for the giant post.
best regards,
PMB
