Had a quick question about themes. Is there an official list for themes that support proxmox 8.4 or is that not how it works. Can I use an old theme from maybe 4-5 years ago?
also feel free to link any themes that you think are cool
Well PVE is opensource and all so everybody can change the source to his or hers wishes, including a different "theme". This is, what PVEDiscordDark does: It installs the theme files and patches the original PVE files to use the theme files instead of the originals. This doesn't mean that themes are supported by PVE per se. If a developer of a certain software tell you that a feature you want doesn't exist in his software at the moment there is a high chance he is right
Another question is whether it's a good idea to use such hacks: I don't think so. It addumes that the structure, CSS etc of the WebUI won't change otherwise this "theme" or the UI will get broken. So this is nothing I would use in production. To be blunt: I don't care whether my PVE nodes have "dark" or "light" or "discord" mode, I want them to work.
If you're really so wishing to change the looks & feel to your preference. There's browser extensions that will theme any site you visit automatically. Such as Stylus for FireFox, which in fact does have a discord theme for Proxmox. That way, changes are only done on your browser, which you can always disable if things get broken and most importantly, leave core compnents work as intended by the developer when used in production.
