Prune & GC

you can configure such pruning on the PVE side (it will then run after each backup). the scheduled pruning is on the dataset level only (but you can of course setup your own prune invocations for specific groups with systemd timers or cron)

Thank you for your answer, but the problem is that I don't see where I can schedule on the PVE side. Can you indicates me where I can schedule the task please ?

Best regards,

The gui features at "Storage / Backups / Prune group qemu" are quite nice.

Automatic backups in the gui are also nice.

However it would be highly welcomed if an automatic prune job would be possible in the gui as well. It could be an option to the backup job or it could be an additional prune job. Whatever is best, please kindly put "automatic prune jobs in the gui" on the wish list of proxmox users for proxmox developers.

P.S.: It's already possible to configure the data center storage with backup retentions with a keep last number. So this should solve the topic for me (testing it now).

Hello,

I'm sorry I was very busy.
In fact, I would like to perform a Prune depending on the type of backup. Incremental backups with one prune and full backups with another.

Thanks !

there is no full or incremental backup in pbs, all backups are deduplicated, so this does not make sense really

I know, for "incremental" backup, I make a backup every day and for a "full" I make one every Sunday
this makes no sense, as in pbs every backup is neither full nor incremental but all are deduplicated

Hello
Go to Folder View - Datacenter - Storage (in the Datacenter menu) - Select your backup Starage and klick Edit

Go to the Tab called Backup Retension.
I believe the options here will solve your query.

* Remove old backup
* Backup Retension
