Hi ,

I just added second nvme 1Tb to proxmox server. System boots up norammly no beeps no issues. However when it reached to proxmox screen for roo password it stays there for few seconds then goes blank and stops. I also notied the attched LAn card also do not blink at all. However once i removed the second nvme it work fine.
However its new nvme drive and BIOS detects it and dnt seem any issues with it .

Any work around or settgins please feel free to share.

Regards

With adding NVMe-device your PCIE-IDs change.

Read from "Check PCI-E IDs via lspci with and without the card...."

runing the command lspci shows lots of entries what to do next and what to look for kindly explain a bit to reslve this issue . thansk again

see entry for new nvme drive as Non -voliatle memory controller : sandisk corp WD black Sn770 Nbme SSD (rev 01)

nano /etc/network/interfaces <- this is your network config before you put in NVMe

There is the "old" working NIC-Name inside configured with the IP.
I don't know that name what you have...could be eth0, eno0, eno1...
If you add PCI-E device (card or NVMe doesn't matter), sometimes IDs change +1

So the new NIC(portname) changes +1.

new nvme drive as Non -voliatle memory controller : sandisk corp WD black Sn770 Nbme SSD (rev 01)
Good.

So IDs got +1 -> Now check ip a what new NICname you have.

Replace that new NICname with all old NICname entries in nano /etc/network/interfaces + reboot

Thanks so I got the old ones as in /etc/network/interfaces:
enp6s0
enps0f0
enp7s0f1
vmbr0
vmbr1
vmbr2

Output of ip the new entry i can see is :
wlp6s0 so add this in /etc/network/interfaces as like what
Previo sone has #WAN , #LAN and #OPT

oh ok but thats the only new identified from ip a all others already identified however when tried ethtool on already setup interfaces like enps6so , enp7s0f0 and enp7s0fi showing no device matching names of either one .

Attaching my ipa and /network/intefrcaes file . Kindly review and help thanks running all thee cmmands for recovery mode as main interfcae comes for secnd then goes blank.

The adding of a PCIe device (your NVMe) shifted each network device PCI ID up by 1.
Change enp6s0 (in /etc/network/interfaces) to enp7s0 (like shown in ip a).
Change enp7s0f0 (in /etc/network/interfaces) to enp8s0 (like shown in ip a).
Change enp7s0f1 (in /etc/network/interfaces) to enp8s1 (like shown in ip a).
Reboot.

Thanks a lot for your help did what I was told but still same issue screen goes blank . please check attched image if I am mkaing any mistakes thanks again !
