proxmox vms unable to serial port

when I changed the console to serial, the console is not able to access it, anyone can advise on this?

I always need to configure GRUB inside the VM before the Linux distribution can use the vga: serial0. Windows also needs some configuration before it will show output on the serial console. What operating system are you using inside the VM?

And you need to open the console in a new window, as the inline console in the GUI will use noVNC. If you open it in a dedicated window, it should use xtermjs
