Proxmox vga passthrough pve

Hi to all,

I have a compatible motherboard and a VT-D processor, I followed the following documentation: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough

I also used this: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/How_to_assign_devices_with_VT-d_in_KVM

Windows XP is clear RADEON 6450 installed PCI-E, but a blue screen comes when installing the drivers.

Any idea?

1.5 enable VGA passthrough ? I thought this was already the case !

you are sure, that the host don't use the graphic card allready with an module?

I do not think so, especially since I set the BIOS / UEFI to use the integrated graphics card IGP. The PCI-E card does not display anything if I connects a screen.

I don't think this will work in Proxmox because I believe you need at least kernel 3.9 for VFIO VGA Passthrough. I cannot see RedHat back porting an experimental feature...

Again I'm not sure but I'd guess that the Proxmox kernel doesn't support any of the VFIO improvements in KVM as all have needed a pretty recently kernel.

I've had this working in ESXi 5.0 in the past reasonably well however my server is now in a different room so no need. ESXi 5.1 removes the ability to pass a USB controller through so it no longer worked there if you was planning to have a virtual desktop.

Now Proxmox 3.2 uses QEMU 1.7, and can use the "x-vga=on" option, but how i have to use it?
