We are proud to announce the final release of our Proxmox VE 4.1!

Its based on latest Debian Jessie and a 4.2.6 kernel with LXC and QEMU 2.4.1. We included countless small improvements and bugfixes, including better ZFS integration for the ISO installer , better startup and shutdown behavior, rootfs (disk) resizing for LXC containers, and also several LXC technology previews like for example support for unprivileged container or LVM thin support.

All TurnKey GNU/Linux V14 Appliances are now available as LXC templates.

Please note, before upgrading to 4.1 you need to shutdown your LXC containers.

In wiki it's written:
For each zone, you can define firewall rules for incoming and/or outgoing traffic. Note that the zones "cascade": e.g. a rule set at the host level will affect all the vms on that host.

How ever VM level completely independent from the Host and Datacenter ones. Was hoping this would be fixed in 4.1 but seemed no changes here
Any plans to implement inheriting in next releases?

Problem with update:

Please change the ceph repository in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ceph.list to

deb http://download.ceph.com/debian-$cephver jessie main

Note: replace $cephver with the ceph version you want (hammer).

"storage: added LVM thin support (technology preview)"

This mean that I can now snapshot a lxc container on ext4 / lvm system ?

Exciting release! How can I find out more about using the unprivileged containers? Is it activated via setting the CT protection option from the GUI?

I updated my Ceph repo as directed above. Version types have changed:

changed to: deb http://download.ceph.com/debian-hammer jessie main

example:
Ceph 0.94.3-1jessie -> Ceph 0.94.5~bpo80+1

Are these the correct upgrades to do? One was for Jessie the other seems to be back-ports. Just want to make sure this is the correct action for upgrading to 4.1 with Ceph installed.

Afaik, yes its the correct version of Hammer (v0.94).

Code:
aptitude show ceph
Package: ceph
State: installed
Automatically installed: no
Version: 0.94.5-1~bpo80+1
Priority: optional
Section: admin
Maintainer: Laszlo Boszormenyi (GCS) <gcs_AT_debian.hu>

That is from a manual Ceph-install (as in not via pveceph)

Ceph Infernalis (v9.2.0) is out since november 6th btw.
http://ceph.com/releases/v9-2-0-infernalis-released/ update process from hammer is nontrivial. Still validating it at work.

Trying to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1, but I'm probably jumping some steps...

I followed this guide: http://goo.gl/7hcDSZ

Is the update from 4.0 to 4.1 maybe only reserved to the subscribers of enterprise contracts?

Hi, just upgraded to 4.1, thanks!

Is there a way to limit the number of processes in lxc containers? Is there a replacement for UBC in lxc?
