Proxmox only recognizes one of two identical M2 drives

Hi,

I have bought two identical 2TB M2 SSD drives for my proxmox server.

However, proxmox does only recognize one of them even though both definitely work (mainboard recognizes them and so does windows for example).

if I replace one of the two drives with a different one they both are regonized (which doesn't help me at the moment because I only have these two 2TB drives which I wanted to set up in a Raid config).

is this a known issue and if so is there a work around?

No, you don's write what type and name the 2TB M2 SSD you have.

The SSD Names must be different, so that debain 12 can access them.
I habe also some Intenso (TOP Performace) SSD with not work together.

the name is "Fanxiang S880 2TB" of which I bought two. They, of course, have different serial numbers but they are the same brand and model.

I did forget tu mention, even though it is very relevant to my question, that they are both recognized as seperated discs by Proxmox when I add a third drive (an old Sata SSD I had lying around) to which I then install Proxmox.

After the installation the second NVMe is available and can be used. However, the second M2 never shows up during the inital proxmox setup why I cannot create a 2TB Raid1 Volume as originally intended.

Maybe I just have to bite the bullet and buy a second 2TB M2 of a different brand

Without knowing your hardware:

1) Have you also verified that your motherboard supports two M.2 SSDs?
2) Have you enabled PCIe bifurcation if you use M.2 within a PCIe slot?

thanks for all your replys!

@LnxBil: no, I haven't. However, the .iso I am using should be the latest (downloaded a couple of days ago)

@ news: I actuall have done this and the drive in some cases appears but not consistently (but remember, if I add a third drive to the storage pool and install proxmox to that drive both M.2 are available in Proxmox after the setup)

@ showiproute: 1) yes, Board definitely supports two M.2 and Bios does recognize both drives so does Windows for example
2) no, I don't even know what that is. Will have a look!
