Hey All,

I've upgraded Proxmox remote server from version 4 to 5.
When booting up, there isn't a option for Proxmox VE.
I'm awaiting the site contact to run the 'ls' command to see what it returns.
Is there anything I might be doing wrong ? do I need to boot with legacy instead of UEFI ?

Hey,

did you follow [1]? When you did the update, were any errors shown? If you have to boot UEFI or not depends on how the system was installed, but if one does not work, just try the other. Maybe also take a look at [2]. It probably makes sense to just re-install PVE with a proper up-to-date version [3](after having backed up everything[5]), since PVE4 is at its EOL already for 5 years[4].

EDIT: Did you upgrade from v4.1 to v4.2 or from 4 to 5, your message and title contradict each other? Regardless, your version should be brought up to date asap.

Hey Hannes,

Cheers for the help, I ended up having another server have the same issue.
For both sites I installed Proxmox 7.2 onto a new PC and restored from a backup.
After trying the recover from grub and not having much luck, I thought it was best to not waste any more time.
