this is maybe just dumb question because i'm trying easy way and cheapest way to setup proxmox cluster.
i have see many people setup homelab using many mini pc.
what i see is jumble mesh of rj45 can't the proxmox using usb connection?.
nowaday mini pc is coming with many usb port either 3.2 or usb 4.0 or even thunderbolt they transfer data from 400Mbps to 40 Gbps.
the networking hardware is pretty pricey in my eyes for 10Gbps Switch.
if only we can use usb port for this purpose WE CAN REDUCE THE COST OF BUILDING HOMELAB yay!!!!
there's attachment what in my mind.

you can point this idea as impossible just tell me i need to know.

i haven't try proxmox yet but i want to from video youtube.
if the feature already exists tell me.
if not the dev team may develop this idea and add it to service or feature for subscription premium feature. i like to pay for this feature.

Dreaming is free :) Unfortunately USB isn't thunderbolt and AFAIK USB does not implement native networking support that may show up to PVE as a network interface that you could use i.e. to create a mesh network like the one you show. I remember there are/were some cables that have some chip that emulated a nic, but IMHO it would be cheaper to simply get usb to 2.5G Ethernet adapters and use a mesh network or switches.
