We are pleased to announce the availability of the new Proxmox Mail Gateway 6.4!

Proxmox Mail Gateway 6.4 is based on the latest stable release of Debian Buster 10.9 with a Linux kernel 5.4.106 including the latest security fixes.

General improvements
  • Full integration of the ACME protocol via the GUI: create valid and trusted certificates for domains with Let's Encrypt.
  • General certificate management via GUI: upload custom certificates from the web interface.
  • SpamAssassin 3.4.5 with support for external SpamAssassin update channels - Proxmox Mail Gateway will now fetch verified updates from external rule channels and the KAM ruleset channel is available.
  • Improved management of the Spam Quarantine: display the quarantined emails of all users at once in the admin view.
  • TLS-logging improvements: The Proxmox Message Tracking Center now shows when an outbound connection is established over TLS.
  • Enhancements to the integration of Proxmox Backup Server: getting notification emails if you have configured a Proxmox Backup Server Remote is now possible.
Countless bugfixes and other smaller improvements are included as well, see the full release notes.

* Which virus scanners are available out-of-the-box in this version?

* Are emails scanned for viruses before or after the spam checks?

* Which virus scanners are available out-of-the-box in this version?
* ClamAV, which gets directly shipped on the ISO (and is installed from the debian upstream repositories)
* Avast (which you need to buy a license for from Avast and then integrate into PMG - see the wiki-page https://pmg.proxmox.com/wiki/index.php/Install_Avast)

* Is it possible to add a virus scanner that is not already available?
Yes - PMG offers a custom check-script integration, where you can script the integration yourself:
https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#pmgconfig_custom_check
(Else also check this forum, some users have tried various 3rd party AV solutions)

* Are emails scanned for viruses before or after the spam checks?
Emails are first run through the antivirus(es), then through the custom check interface, and afterwards analyzed for SPAM (if there is any rule in your rule-system which has a Spam What Object configured)

I hope this helps!

It is great to see able to view all and search in spam quarantine. But I notice a small changes.
In 6.3, when I click deliver/delete mails the cursor will auto move to the next mails.
In 6.4, the cursor will not auto move to the next (pls refer to attached video).
Can that behavior change back follow 6.3?

You're right, that's a small, but non-negligible, regression from a recent optimization.

Can that behavior change back follow 6.3?
Sure, I committed a fix, it should get available with the next update to the pmg-gui package.
Thanks for reporting!

There's nothing to activate, it's always there in the admin panel.

The Spam quarantine is exposed in two ways, the very limited per-user spam quarantine view (the "self-manage" one which is linked to by the spam report) and the admin view, which is reachable simply by logging in with an admin user into PMG and going to Administration -> Spam Quarantine, https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#_quarantine_2

Done this with an admin user. But on "email" there I have to select an adress. Initially the filed is empty and nothing shown there in the list of quarantined mails ?

I think this works SO as designed ;-)

I mean, yeah, if there's no mail for any address in the quarantine it's empty as there's nothing to show... I do not really see the problem?

If there are mails in the spam quarantine for some users you will be able to select either the address of a specific recipient or all there.

Thank you for the spam quaratine "view all" expansion! This helps a lot! I have a little suggestion for this view:
pls add a (sortable) column with the senders ip-address - maybe just before the spam-score, or after... This will help figuring out mutiple spammer-ip's or complete spammer-networks. Im doing this by forwarding the spam into a separate spam folder for now (see pic) but it would be great having this information direct in the prox-mox view.
