Hi all,
this is my first post in this forum, just wonder an answer of anyone of you are able install and use properly proxmox ve on a ES/QS cpu. Appreciated your sharing. as I have tried on two ES CPU system, however, they are both failed with errors during the installation.

Just ensure if ES/QS CPU are not able to play on this purpose.

Thanks all.

Hi,

this can only the manufacturer of this CPU tell you.
ES/QS CPU have other names, numbers .... to identify.
The problem is that software can't identify this CPU.

Just as u said, for model of qs cpu can be read. That might possibly install proxmox with no errors?

What kind of CPU you talk specific?
Because if the CPU is a new one the kernel may not know it.
PVE kernel is new but not so new that we would know an Xeon Platinum or AMD Epic.
For this CPU the kernel get patches.

"QS" is the English Qualification Sample abbreviation, that is, quality confirmation samples, also known as "positive show ES". Simply put, QS is the last version of ES, and the official version is almost the same, usually the same step and the official version. Originally the CPU manufacturers to provide computer manufacturers to carry out the corresponding supporting product design and development testing purposes, just to distinguish with the official version, in the hardware written in the ES words.
Features: CPU-Z can see the specific model, with the CPU-Z can see the ES mark (that is, ES is explicit).
Advantages: almost exactly the same as the official version, the stability is also very good, the price cheaper than the official version.
Disadvantages: no warranty or can only enjoy the business to provide the warranty, than the model can not show the ES version slightly expensive.

I ask what CPU it is.

How did you get your hands on pre-production CPUs?

I never used L-class CPUs in a server, could you share the power consumption of such a system?

Code:
command 'chroot /rpool/root/pve1 dpkg --force-confold --configure - a failed with exit code 1 at /usr/bin/proxinstall line 385

tried to intsall for 3 times, please kindly advise.

please advise if any other information needed, sorry for this coz' this is my first question to ask in pve forum

please try with the current -5 installer iso, and if it fails to install using that one, boot in debug mode and collect the /tmp/install.log in the debug shell and post it here.
