Proxmox installation freezes at 99%

Proxmox Installation from latest 1.6 version CD.


Note: Proxmox erases the local HDD

 Screen6    Creates Partitions and continues installation without any user intervention
 Switch to Ctrl-Alt-F2 to monitor build sequence

 blinking cursor stops. Cannot Ctrl-Alt-ANYTHING does NOT do anything

Everytime thru the install did NOT complete . Stops here.


This is a AMD X2
with a 16GB IDE
4GB RAM
2 LAN cards w/ethernet cable disconnected during installation


Further; I remove the Proxmox CD and my system does NOT get a GRUB menu. Simply a blank screen after PC Post....No messages...nothing. It will not boot.

try older ISO (1.4 with 2.6.24 or 1.5 with 2.6.18) and upgrade - does this work?

Problem seems to be a CF storage device on an IDE channel. The CD refuses to install on it. ... No matter which version of Proxmox used.

how big is the CF storage?

try debug installation, maybe you find something (just type 'debug' on the iso boot prompt)
