I've noticed my proxmox server tends to crash every few days. I attached a screenshot of my monitor when I noticed the latest crash. I couldn't find anything in logs after a hard reboot to get more detail. Previously I ran memtest86 to test the memory, and no errors were reported after 4 passes.

Can anyone help me parse the attached screenshot and offer guidance? I'm not sure how to narrow it down from here.

Code:
root@proxmox:~$ pveversion
pve-manager/5.3-6/37b3c8df (running kernel: 4.13.13-5-pve)

Hi,

your MB is old and has no patches for Spectre and Meltdown.
You have to install intel microcode package, this should fix it.

apt install intel-microcode

reboot the system

Thanks. I installed the package and rebooted. So far, no issues.

Can you tell me how you determined this was the issue causing the kernel panic? Also, is this package required to be installed on all containers/VMs hosted by this proxmox node? Or is the host sufficient?

Only on the host.
