I have a pve cluster connecting to a 3 node pve+ceph over 10Gb. The ceph nodes are pretty powerful, I mean 2 x Xeon CPUs with 24 cores total and plenty of RAM.

I see some IO wait when looking at the CPU usage under proxmox gui. The io wait is about a little bit more than half of the CPU usage. So if the CPU usage is 3% the io wait is 1.6-1.8%. Everything is working fine but I am wondering if I am seeing a beginning of a bigger problem. I just took a backup of one of the VMs from the cluster and the CPU usage went up to 4.18% but the io wait stayed at the >2% level.
