Proxmox Backup on the same server as Proxmox VE

Can I run Proxmox VE and Proxmox backup on the same server?

And just use 8006 for VE and 8007 for Backup?

Yes.

But make sure that your backups are not only on one host.

I plan to store the backups on a NAS and have a server with proxmox already installed in case of a server failure.

If you have a subscription for one but not the other and both on the same system, Proxmox will give a bit of mixed messages about available updates (such as the kernel), nullifying the usefulness of the enterprise repository. But otherwise they work well together. Alternatively, you could install PBS as a CT (or VM) on PVE.
