Hello,

With Proxmox 8 we had installed Veeam Agent for Linux on each hypervisors to have a backup of the system disks.

But it is no more possible with Proxmox 9.2.
Veeam Agent for Linux install a kernel module via DKMS, but it is not compatible with the current PVE kernel (kernel 7).
For Debian based distribution it is only compatible with the official kernel : 6.12
https://www.veeam.com/kb2804

Does someone knows a way to install it ?
If not possible, is there a better way to backup the configuration files of the hypervisors in order to restore it ?

Thank you.

they seem to support Ubuntu 26.04 which is a very similar kernel baseline..

Just Install it without the dkms module - it won't support freezing filesystems then, but that is not really relevant, you only really need the pve configs.
Install a veeam worker to backup your vms.
I would recommend 13.1, it got a lot of fixes for proxmox.

If you have a PBS too and just want to backup those config files, you could use something like:
proxmox-backup-client backup <archive_name>.pxar:/etc/ --repository root@pam@<PBS-IP>:<Datastore_Name> --change-detection-mode metadata
You don't have to install anything to get this working.
