Proxmox 9.0.4 doesn't get IP by DHCP

Adding dhcpcd + "allowinterfaces vmbr0" in /etc/dhcpcd.conf does work, but pve is dependtend on isc-dhcp-common isc-dhcp-client so you can't remove them.
By the time of writing it was not dependent.
They added a dependency recently so removing ISC software is now impossible but everyhting works yet. Until Proxmox finds a way to mess everything up again.

I'm glad I finally found this thread. This also seems to affect PBS. I was trying to setup a fresh install of PBS 4.1.1 and couldn't get an DHCP lease until I found this.

Half the threads I stumbled upon were just "Proxmox/PBS is a server, don't use DHCP" but my setup is just an offsite backup in a friend's house. All I wanted was for it to be a "plug power and ethernet in with no configuration" setup, where I would have access to it via tailscale mesh instead. I just hand the PC off and its ready to go.

"It will never need <insert feature here> because its a server" is such a bad mindset imo
