make a backup with vzdump and restore with qmrestore. qmrestore has an option for the storage destination.

see the man pages.

Hi,

i am to stupid ...

Firstly i have created a backup:

vzdump --quiet --node 2 --snapshot --compress --dumpdir /backup1 107

backup created succesful. Then i used qmrestore

Must i first convert the vmdk to raw?

So, now i will report the results an all issues

Firstly, backup the machine, convert the container to raw, tar the machine confused me a little ;-) What is the best way to migrate all machines from vmdk/qcow2 format to raw and restore it to a shared storage?

Migrate the first machine on our test envoirment look good:

Live!Migrate from Server02 to Server01 are in "realtime" with the shared storage. No breaks are on the machine.
