We’re moving from VMware to Proxmox and are currently building a small POC cluster. I’d like to check whether the proposed network design is suitable:
- 2 x 1Gb NICs per host in active/standby, dedicated to Proxmox management/GUI.
- 2 x 10Gb NICs per host using LACP for VM and Corosync traffic.
- 10Gb LACP bond configured as an 802.1Q trunk with separate VLANs.
- Dedicated non-routed VLAN for Corosync, providing Layer 2 connectivity between all cluster nodes.
- Physical links distributed across a two-switch stack for resilience.
- 10Gb switches support ISSU, allowing one switch to remain available during planned maintenance.
