Hello,

My System is an upgraded PromoxVE 1.9 Setup running on Primergy Rx300S6.

I like to detect my raid controller:

lspci says:
01:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic LSI MegaSAS 9260 (rev 05)

i have installed the driver from http://jonas.genannt.name/.

but with tw_cli show i gave...

proxmox01:~/x86_64# tw_cli show
No controller found.
Make sure appropriate LSI/3ware device driver(s) are loaded.

Can anyone help me with the setup?

Chris

I've a Primergy Rx300S6 but still Proxmox 1.8 running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve
01:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic LSI MegaSAS 9260 (rev 04)
I had nothing to do to make it recognize the LSI, the driver is included in proxmox and is "megaraid_sas"
lspci -v says so:
Kernel driver in use: megaraid_sas
Kernel modules: megaraid_sas
What is exactly your problem?
What is the output of pveversion -v ?

Nice, but what's wrong? Was it working until the upgrade?
I see you are using the same drivers I use:
Kernel driver in use: megaraid_sas
Kernel modules: megaraid_sas
I've no idea about tw_cli show, never used tw_cli command.
If you want to setup the controller, you can do with it's own bios setting tools (nothing needs to be installed).
Very very important for performances is have BBU module and enable write back (keep disk caches disabled)
If you want to monitor the controller state, I've the bad feeling that there is no Free (as in freedom) utilities available, at least working with recent hardware.
Better write to LSI and complain about the situation (I will as soon as I've some free time)

Seems that tw_cli is something related to AMCC/3ware ATA RAID Controller, not LSI. Is true that LSI recently bought 3Ware, but sure this will not impact already sold hardware and compatibility among utilities designed for different hardware :)
