y tengo creado 2 VM's

vm1 = Windows Server 2003 RS2 con Active Directory
vm2 = Windows Server 2003 RS2 con SQL Server 2000

Hello I amnew tothis, and I'mlearning a lotthanks to thiswonderful projectProxmox...

here's my question....

I have installedProxmoxServerv2.0on aHP ProLiantML110G3
and I havecreated 2VM's

vm1=Windows Server 2003with ActiveDirectoryRS2
vm2=Windows Server 2003withSQLServer 2000RS2

Everything worksperfect.BothVMoriginate fromphysicalPC,andwere converted todiscs withextension.Vmdk

Until I founda flaw thatI can notunderstand why...

I canwrite dataand read data fromtablesinSQL2000.Butwhen I need toopen thetable using theEnterpriseManagerconnectionusinglocalhost>databases>tables>sample1> OpenTable>ReturnTop...the programis frozen, no response...but theVMdoes not die.

Then copytheVM2to anotherPCwithProxmox1.9 andthe EnterpriseManagerworks fine....

then theonly solutionis to migrateeverything toProxmox1.9?or is theresome methodto useProxmox2.0 andfix theEnterpriseManager?

Hi,
perhaps an IO-Problem on the pve2-node? What is the output of "pveperf /var/lib/vz" on both nodes (pve2 and where all runs fine)?

Are there a lot other IOs? Check with "iostat -dm 5 <device>". You must install sysstat to get iostat.

Udo

Take another test, this is to install a Proxmox 2.0 from the CD. but this time, I have not used apt-get upgrade, without having done updates, copy to inside / var/lib/vz/101 the. vmdk ... then open the Enterprise Manager program and when I try to open the table works perfect.
That is what might be causing the problem, because before mounting the VM's had done an apt-get upgrade.

Now I did another test. Install the Enterprise Manager client on another physical PC, and it works great.

For now I'll have to reinstall everything from scratch, but without using the apt-get upgrade. or my other option will use the Enterprise Manager remotely, but not the same for my daily tasks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ahora hice otra prueba.

...muchas gracias...

Hi all, I did many tests, and finally I had no solution ... Often the Proxmox installversion 1.9 and 2.0 on a HP Proliant server ML115 Opteron microprocessor1210 and 4 GB of RAM ...

Using the same disk file. Vmdk in all my tests still do not understand the reason for failure when trying to open locally tables using the Enterprise Manager does not respond ...

What strikes me even more attention is to install Proxmox 2.0 on a Desktop PCAMD Phenom X555 with 4 GB of RAM, Asus mother ... and I can open the tableswith Enterprise Manager locally, you can advise me some experience please

I apologize for my lack of English, use the google translator to translate. thank you very much ... ...

HP ProLiant ML110 G5 ( 2 x Intel Xeon CPU E3110 @ 3.00 Ghz)
HP ProLiant ML115 G1 ( 2 x Dual-Core AMD Opteron 1210)

Hi, thanks for the idea that I suggested, but did not work.

What I do not understand is this.

I have two HP server
HP ProLiant ML110 G5 (2 x Intel Xeon CPU E3110@3.00 Ghz)
HP ProLiant ML115 G1 (2 x Dual-Core AMD Opteron 1210)

Also I have a Desktop PC (2 x AMD Phenom II X2 560) With ASUS motherboard
M4A78LT-M LX

All machines have installed Proxmox v2 updated.
All have 4GB of Ram and 500 GB SATA disks.
All have the same VMDK disk image obtained using the physicalserver vmwareconvert
All nodes running 2 VMs (VM100: Windows 2003 DNS) (VM101: Windows 2003 MSSQL 2000)

On HP server ... when using the Enterprise Manager I can not openSQL tables.

There is one exception: in the HP ProLiant server using Proxmox v1110ml obtain good results, and it works perfectly EnterpriseManager, allowing you to edit and open tables.

But using the PC Desktop Enterprise Manager works fine and I canopen and edit SQL tables. with any version of Proxmox V1 or V2.

Probe convert raw disks and produces the same result.

Then I upload a video so I can better show the detail ...

I hear more suggestions:

Hi,
you have also pve running on the desktop-pc?
I guess your IO-Performance is better on this hardware? What values show pveperf (on the disk, which you are using for the VM)?
If you tried to open the Enterprise Manager, what shows "top" (wait and sys).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep6OZxmrUfY&feature=youtu.be

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello again. Look at the video, here is the sample of the problem I have.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep6OZxmrUfY&feature=youtu.be

First I show the Desktop PC, which run perfectly Enterprise Manager, and I can open and view the data in my tables.

Then enter the Proxmox installed on my second 110ml HP ProLiant server and produces the error, does not open the applicationresponds.

All have the same disk image and configuration.

Gracias ! / Ty!

Hi,
strange. Please post the vm-config from the not working node and the vm-config from the amd-desktop system (working).

Hi,
and what's about the IO-performance?
Is the non-running raw-disk an copy from the original-server or from the running raw-disk?

Udo

Hi Udo.

The physical server using vmware migrate convert it which I target the copies to an external disk format. Vmdk ... you copy those files into the VM in your folder.

You also tried to make copies using qemu convert raw included within theProxmox.

The performance does not vary between raw and supporting vmdk far I tested for hours sitting in front of computers, copying GBs and GBs, I could not find a logicalanswer, ergo, no longer know what to say, if then you should buy a server largerdesktop pC or a game server to make it ...

Hola Udo.

Hi,
sorry I don't understand the part of the vm-disk.
Simple question: are the raw-disks on all pve-systems the same?

One thing to test - can you tried to use virtio instead of ide? (change in the config "ide2:" to "virtio0", start the VM and use the driver from http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/virtio-win/latest/images/bin/ as mounted cd-rom; shutdown VM, change ide0 to virtio0 and the others to virtio1 and virtio2, start vm and use the driver again).

Ok, gracias Udo. voy a probar esa idea tuya. Luego te comento los resultados

Hi Udo.

-----------------------------

I commented that it did not work. Use virtio driver with vmdk disks now onlyremains for me to try on raw, but I do not gain much, since only improved in speedas it reaches to, but does not the Enterprise Manager on HP servers.
