Hi,

I've just install Proxmox release 3.3 and there's a stuck during Windows seven Pro 64 installation.
Everything goes as well as possible except during uncompress step. At about 4%, an error occured "error 0X80070570" - the system couldn't not extract data as if the ISO file was corrupted.

I've tested everything possible:
- memory : change the ram component and check again: ram is clean
- ISO file: I've tested with various ISO file and always the same problem
- Proxmox configuration: OK

I've installed my system as in the youtube proxmox video chanel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thVmhIw4-jU
My configuration is similar (except their amazing server ;) - intel 64 dual core (just for test).

I can't find any solution. If somebody could help me, it could be so nice ;)

did you checked the md5sum of the uploaded windows ISO image?

Hi Tom,

Thanks you for your fast reply. I've just checked the md5sum for all my ISO CD/DVD and all are OK.
- I have test Proxmox (same version) with installation of Fedora 18 on the VM and installation was successfull.
- I made a new test this morning with Proxmox (another version: 3.1) with installation of win 7 Pro 64 on the VM and installation encountered the same problem.

So it seems working with Linux (fedora in VM) but not with Windows. Nevertheless, I need to install Windows, not Linux on my VM :(
See below the error message (during installation) in the screenshot:

capture_proxmox.JPG

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Stéphane

Hi,

I've just tested with Windows XP and it's works fine.
So, as for Gianfranco, for some OS, it works (Windows XP, LInux) but on Windows 7, no.

I'm surprise that so few people have encounter that problem !... :/ Maybe it's a configuration problem but I follow all the tutos on the web.

Thank you in advance,

Stéphane

Can you try with win7 32bit?

This link suggests a bug on virtio drivers but I don't know if it's related to your problem:

Have you updated proxmox to latest version?
What's the underlying storage type on /var/lib/vz?How it is formatted (ext3,ext4 etc)
What's the output of "pveversion -v" ?

Hi there,

So, I've tried a lot of things:
- Windows 8.1: doesn't works - it doesn't load proprely (reboot)
- Install of the latest version of proxmox: running on 3.3, I have tested on 3.1 / same problem. Upgrade for 4.0: it's not a proxmox VE upgrade (a mail gateway)
- for the storage type, I think it's ext4
- What's the output of "pveversion -v" ? the result below:
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 3.1-114 (running kernel: 2.6.32-26-pve)
pve-manager: 3.1-21 (running version: 3.1-21/93bf03d4)

For the moment, the system woks fine with 2 or 3 VM (Windows XP) but I can't install Win7. As for user "PirateGhost", we have the same problem.

Best regards,

Stephane

Your pve is not the latest. Several packages are old. Can you update and try again?

I actually stated that I have zero issues installing windows. Any version of windows works here. I didn't do anything special for it to work. Standard proxmox installation, and have had working windows VMS since I started using 2.x something.

pff... how to copy and paste from the vnc "_shell" window???

you can get the list of packages via the web gui.

or use the new xterm.js console, this supports copy and paste.
