Presenting Share from Windows 8 as storage for Proxmox

My company is currently using Windows 8 shares and Stabebit Drive Pool as a storage solution for our users but are hating the experience of using windows shares. Is there a way that we would be able to present storage from our windows server for proxmox to use?

We would like to keep the functionality of drive pool which is the only reason why we haven't gotten rid of Windows 8 on that box yet.

Any ideas are welcome.

I like their site but this would be storage for a post production studio so there are a lot of large files that change fairly frequently. Sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier. Is there any reason why it doesn't play well with large files that change often?
