We are looking to build a portable Proxmox lab.
Let's say w'ill use 3 hosts and one small NAS.

What do you recommend for small compute hosts ?

First choice is building from scratch using intel mini itx boards. In this scenario, each host is limited to 16GB/RAM :(

Second choice, using Mac Mini. Is Proxmox compatible with Mac Mini. Still limited to 16GB/RAM per hosts

Third choice is (http://www.tinygreenpc.com/microsvr.aspx) still waiting for the price of those machines.

As a proxmox user, what will you use for a perfect and sexy portable lab ?

the boxes from your link looks interesting (and expensive). I would like to get such boxes for testing in our lab.

we work with several HP microservers in our lab. quite flexible and very cheap, perfectly suitable to run test cluster setups. but note, CPU in these boxes are not that fast and ram is limited. but the limited performance is great to see how overloaded system works.

but all depends on your needs - why do you need a portable system?

First goal is for pre-sale. We would like to build portable proxmox kits for targetted (future) clients.
Second goal is for class room's. (BYOIaaS) :)
Third goal will be for every day moving enterprises.
Fourth goal is just for the fun of it.
Fifth goal is to create a low cost mobile IaaS.
