poblem with fresh installation of proxmox 4 with adaptec maxview (can't access it)

Hi,

I've done a fresh installation of proxmox 4 recently qnd I've installed a raid10 with my adaptect 6405E.
The installation has been fine but I can't access to the maxview server apparently.
sotr_agent and stor_cimserver are active.
I just have those kind of messages in the description of the status of the service :

Apparently since I've done that, the interface is online but Ican't login in. it tells me that

Login Failed : Network configuration is incorrect or incomplete.​

in the help of adaptec I just have: Error Message: "Invalid Username or Password" if the network configuration is incorrect or incomplete
Multiple components in maxView communicate through the network communication. Without a proper network configuration, this communication will break and the login is not possible. Please verify that at least one network connection is configured properly. On Linux systems we recommend to check the etc host files and verify host entries are correct.

but for me everything is looking good about network. so I don't know where to look...

Can someone help me about that?

not yet. I was hoping that it could be a proxmox problem, like the libpam library or something maybe network-file related like the hosts etc

I Just did, i Will post the answer of the technical support and hoping That it's Just a problem in their programming. In the meantime, is There a part in proxmox where i can manage the hdd by format them etc or have I to do it in cmdline like any other disks?

AFAIK there is also a CLI tool for managing Adaptec Raid cards (check Adaptec docs).

The Proxmox VE GUI does not include disk management, but its no the roadmap.

mmmmh okey so I need to do it the hardway. Yeah I know that there is a cli interface but in debian raid part doc it also tells that it's not longer supported so can you deny that?

By the way the aacraid included at the installation are they up to date? it's a debian package or a package that comes with proxmox?

aacraid is the driver, not the management tool. and yes, this one is included in all our kernel.

the CLI tool from Adaptec is called "Adaptec ARCCONF Command Line Utility",

download this one from adaptec web site.

Personally speaking, I would NOT install the Adaptec MaxView application (too big) on a Proxmox VE host, better use the CLI tool.

mmmh okey because in the debian doc it was notify that before a cli app was implemented as well as the driver but it was not called the same anyway. I will try the cli then. But of course you are right about the heavyness of the app (I have just more confidence with this tool than the CLI about what I would do) because in this case it cause the tomcat server to run at all time at 20% because it can't connect for example so yes it's really heavy.
I will try your way.

They don't know the problem... They want some logs but i have done a clear install since So i guess i will have a to reinstall it to show them

Just open /etc/pam.d/wbem and comment out line with pam_cracklib. Andreas

They said they would look into it, but in the same time they said also that new drivers were released only in March 2016

Hi Vigilian,

this pam_cracklib.so error is the problem why you cannot login to adaptec maxview. They ship a wbem pam.d file that contains reference to pam_cracklib. The pam_cracklib can be installed on Debian from package but since it is not a must to have it installed you can savely remove the reference from wbem. Afterwards 28000 daily entries from auth.log will disappear and additionally you can login to maxview.
