[SOLVED] pmgbackup restore: unable to update postfix table

I backed up a v7 PMG server restoring it to a new v8 server, the restore mostly worked, however I received these error messages and the relevant tables weren't restored. I checked the backup archive and found the files in good order, any ideas what is causing this issue?

Restore command: pmgbackup restore --filename pmg-backup_2023_09_02_64F3F3C2.tgz

Error messages:

The server didn't have a search domain in resolv.conf, I resolved by adding "--searchdomain example.com" to the "pct create" command.

yes - that's likely the culprit - PMG takes the domain-name (for postfix settings) from the search-domain in /etc/resolv.conf (the first entry) - see:
