If you want to add features you should do that directly (no plugin). First step would be to join the pve-devel list and talk about the features you want to implement.

I keep seeing these responses from Proxmox devs: Join the developer group. Can we maybe discuss a way to open up the GUI to make it extensible in an easier way for everyone? What if I have a very specific use case I want to customize? If the answer is "help develop it" then a specific niche use case would never make it to main release. Barrier of entry is too high for what should be a simple ask.
