pfSense crashing after installation

So I wanted to run pfSense on Proxmox 6.1. Right after installation, when I continue the installation through the web interface and finish it, the entire VM freezes. All I can do is force restart it but after that it's corrupted and can't be used any longer.

I've tried this 3 times and it freezes every time on the exact same point. I've been deploying it to my CEPH cluster and to the local disk, same result so I'm pretty sure it's not a disk issue. Besides my other VMs run fine. I followed the proxmox guide from pfSense itself.

Then I download OPNSense and I'm happily running that now. No crashes, freezes or anything.

So I got it sorted out at the end and OPNSense fits my needs but I'm still curious though what could cause this, or should I take this to the pfSense forum? Btw I used the same FS for pf and OPN, just auto UFS.

Did you try with an older version of Pfsense ?

i am running fine 2.4.4-RELEASE-p3 (amd64) of pfsense for a long time with no problem.

I try to update to version 2.4.5 the other day and it crash after the upgrade, nothing was workinf anymore, so many the version 2.4.5 is buggy.

Ah right yes I did try 2.4.5 indeed. It's supposed to be stable though
