Is there a way I can run Personal Backup Appliance under Proxmox? The server is a VMware appliance with vmdk files. The wiki has some instruction on converting vmdk files, but I'm a bit lost on where to even start. Otherwise, could someone point me to another EASY to use backup program that can be run under proxmox that can do clones and run on different machine using dummy drivers similar to Shadow Protect, Ghost, etc.

I do not know this software but the last files where released 3 years ago - look like this project is stopped. take a look on http://clonezilla.org/, maybe this is interesting for you.

btw, why don´t you use vzdump (Proxmox Backup GUI)?

Thanks Tom I'll check it out. I actually do use vzdump, but I want a backup system that could act as a server and backup images of my non-virtualized machines.

Don't know if it's an option for you, but CrashPlan PRO is a pretty good, cross platform, and simple to manage solution. It's not open source or free, however. Still, it's pretty inexpensive.
