Pentium 4 not listed

I've successfully installed proxmox ve. But I am unable to install any guest. My server has a Pentium 4 processor. I notice that Pentium 4 is not listed among the choices for processor. I have tried different settings. Most simply return an error when I start the machine. However, when I use QUEMU32, the Ubuntu 10.10 installation iso does start to load, but it never leaves the initial "flash" screen (in the console window). I suppose this has something to do with the fact that Pentium 4 is not listed as an option. What is the correct choice for processor when the server has a Pentium 4 processor installed?

Thanks for your assistance.

Enable Intel Virtualization VT in BIOS.

Thanks for your reply. There is no option in BIOS to enable virtualization. There is an option to enable hyperthreading which is enabled.

This is an older computer (obviously) and I would like to use it to run several vm's if I can. Any further suggestions are appreciated.

if you have no VT option, your CPU/Board does not support VT. so you can use only OpenVZ.

post your CPU specs or check by yourself on http://ark.intel.com

Thank you willy1009, tom and snowman66. Now that I know that I cannot use KVM, I have successfully installed an OpenVZ container. Thank you very much.
