pbs: Cannot find datastore 'Backups2' on 2 out of 3 PVE cluster Nodes

I deleted and re-added PBS storage to my PVE cluster (proxa, proxb, and proxc) using the PVE web UI. After some messing around with users and permissions I was able to get the Backups2 storage added as 'pbs'.

Now on proxa I can see "pbs (proxa)" and all the backups etc..

On proxb and proxc the storage shows up with a '?' icon and the message:

pbs: Cannot find datastore 'Backups2', check permissions and existence! (500)

is shown.

I don't understand why the storage is showing up on one node but not all 3?

please post

- pveversion -v
- /etc/pve/storage.cfg
- pvesm status

on all nodes. thanks!

do you see a request on the PBS system from nodes b and c when you run "pvesm status" there? is "pbs.merwood.com" resolved using DNS, and is it possible something is messed up there and node b and c talk to a different PBS system?

Something wiers is going on with my pbs I think. Its a VM running on truenas scale/community. I accidently deleted the zvol containing the DataStore Backups. I created a new ZVOL and new Datastore Backups2.

When I login to PBS I sometimes see datastore Backups and I sometimes see datastore Backups2

I have added pbs, and pbsx to the cluster - Backups and Backups2 they are both added.

Right now proxb and proxc can both see Backups2 - they couldnt yesterday and the pbs web ui shows Backups2 with backups from proxa from this morning.

Earlier from proxc I could see pbsx with a much more out of date set of backups.

This is a homelab I am very tempted to tear down pbs VM and start again

that sounds like you might indeed have an IP conflict and are sometimes connecting to one and sometimes connecting to the other PBS instance?

No until this morning there was only one instance running. I will complete setup on the new VMand report back
