PBS Backup Storage Format after Beta?

Hello,

For our business, right now is a really good time to update our Backup process. We really would like to use PBS. We understand it's in Beta, and we are ok with that.

We are concerned how stable the storage format and layout for backups is?

In other words, if we use the Beta version of PBS and then update to the Stable version when released, will our current backup sets be compatible?

I'd hate to lose all those backups just because we had to switch to a stable version? Is there any possibility the format might change?

Hi dbayer,

the backup is chunk based. I think the chunks will the same in stable release.

I think you are right. Just figured it was worth getting the official word on it. Considering the amount of data we would have to re-backup.
