Palo Alto VM FW fails to figure out UUID+CPUID for license serial numbering

Anyone tried to make Palo Alto FW VMx00/PanOS 7.x work on Proxmox/KVM, my netadmin claims that it fails to find an uuid+cpuid to generate a unique serial number to be used for licensing. But on other VMs running Linux I can see the assigned VM smbios uuid from dmidecode.

Palo Alto support was klueless... their guide useless...

the 'show system info' on the PanOS returns this (note unknown vm-uuid hence the serial also unknown => problem getting the vm-license installed):

This is a commercial and closed product, so the only with access to the details for debugging is this vendor itself - I suggest you should insist on getting help from the vendor - if they need help on the Proxmox VE side, they should contact us via office@..

I just installed a PA VM series 10.2.1 instance on Prox 7.2.1 (both the latest as of now). Was able to activate and register fine. I was able to download and apply all the patches. This is running in my lab so don't have HA setup and not much traffic, so can't say much about production worthiness of this setup, but for my purpose, it works great, no issues, at least so far. I just followed the KVM guide on Palo's support site. Hope this helps.
