Hi Everyone,
Strange issue, not sure what's up exactly but hopefully someone can help. I rebooted after adding a new drive to my HBA (PCI passthrough), but got a red error when booting 6.8.12-10 in initird and got dumped to bios. May not be related to that because I've had some other strange gremlins around gpt, maybe a partition issue explains both. I had a bad UPS last week so it got a hard shutdown and hasn't been the same since.

After was able to select 6.8.12-9 and boot successfully, but stuck on how to either correct, replace or remove the -10 kernel, or atleast the offending argument that was hinted at in the initial boot error.

Tried to reinstall that kernel to see if it would fix anything, but don't want to go any further because I guarantee I will make it worse.

Hi!

Try the following:

Code:
Open the "/var/lib/dpkg/info" directory,
move the "proxmox-kernel-6.8.12-10-pve*" files to a different directory,
move the "proxmox-kernel-6.8*" files to a different directory,

then
$> apt install -f
$> apt reinstall proxmox-kernel-6.8.12-10-pve

Move back the files to the "/var/lib/dpkg/info" directory.

I should reboot and see what it's going to do, will have to wait till early morning now

Well I rebooted and it selected -10 and booted okay. Host is still behaving strangely, I will probably just wipe and reinstall but will continue to monitor for a few more days. Nothing critical, already migrated the guests to another machine for safe keeping.
