Hello,

I've successfully installed OPNsense on my server, but I have a DHCP server issue.

On my Win11 VM, I can access internet, OPNsense GUI, proxmox admin page, ... via a DHCP lease.

On my real laptop, connected on the lan port on my OPNsense server, same thing : I can access internet, OPNsense GUI, ... but only by configuring the connexion manually. If I choose DHCP, automatic connection I don't receive any IP....

2 Windows clients :
- VM : IP received from DHCP
- laptop connected via RJ45, no IP via DHCP, I need to configure the connection manually...

Any idea ?

Provider's box : 192.168.1.1
OPNsense WAN IP is 192.168.1.2
OPNsense LAN IP is 10.0.0.1
and I activated DHCP on LAN

opnsense vm network config?
why do u have the proxmox portal on the WAN Interface?

I would like to be sure opnsense is working correctly before to move it to lan.

Opnsense wan interface : 192.168.1.2
Opnsense lan : static IP : 10.0.0.1 with DHCP enabled and range from 10.0.0.10 to 10.0.0.50

Here's a working example. Your bridges seem wrong and also you have not posted network settings opnsense from proxmox.

Note that it is Vlan aware

Port 1 is wan
Port 2+3 is lan
Port 4 is wan.

I have access to internet by manual config, but not via DHCP, that's strange

Tested on an other computer, same results

If your initial Pics of the proxmox network webui are correct, Opnsense can't use 192.168.1.2 as you have already assigned that IP to proxmox on vmbr0. If you manually configure the WAN IP in Opnsense it would need to be 192.168.1.3 or higher.

Exactly which proxmox bridge is Opnsense using for wan and which bridge is Opnsense using for lan? show a pic of the INTERFACES: ASSIGNMENTS webgui in Opnsense.

Which Promox linux bridge is the windows Test VM using for Wan?

If your router VM goes down, what happens. Do you lose access to the pve?

I still have the same issue with pfsense now...

I receive a configuration from DHCP with my Win 11 VM, but not from a PC client connected on interface enp45s0

On my PC I need to add this configuration manually :

IP : 10.0.0.5
subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 10.0.0.1
DNS : 1.1.1.1

And it works. With automatic configuration, nothing received from DHCP.
