[SOLVED] OPNsense Network performance

Ha all,

Just moved from 2 VMware hosts to Proxmox 100%. The only problem I have now is that I use a OPN as a internal Router.
I had on VMware a throuhput of 30M and now only 10Mb ? I have created a Bond0 for 2 NICS and still a 10mb transfer, what can be wrong ?

I also configured the E1000 as two NICS still 10Mb ?

Dear Flames,

It is an internal router between the internal network and de ISP switch. When I do a download I see 10Mb it was 30Mb.

Where do I turn off 'disable hardware offloading in opnsense setting' ?

hm... strange, i am out of ideas. maybe you could search or ask in opnsese forum.
i am running opnsendse since a few years on proxmox and had same issues at the begining. disabling hardwareoffloading helped instantly:
100+ vlans, inter-vlan routing is 550-600Mbits (cpu is the limiting factor here, its an old xeon 2690v3 low basis frequency, 8cores/32gb ram for opns vm). w/o routing (same subnet), nearly full speed (880-920Mbps)
 
you could give the opns vm more cores and ram + set cpu to "host" instead of kvm64, maybe that will help
 
what I mean is - that's a severely underpowered CPU for this day and age, and it might just be the bottle neck for your use case..

I run multiple VM's and fine. What do you mean by ' severely underpowered CPU' ?

When I had the two host running on VMware no problem with OPN.

I stated 2 days ago wil a Proxmox VE Community Subscription 1 CPU/year €90,00EUR. To support the Team. In my cluster so €180,- Year.

What 'Commercial Support Subscription' do you advice that I should buy ?

I just created a VM in the 192.168.178.x/24 network. 192.168.178.20 and gwt 192.168.178.1 and again only 10M download.
