Opinions about this HW setup

Hi everyone

I was thinking about expanding my 3 Proxmox nodes with CEPH. I had the following hardware in mind:

3* Icy Dock Tougharmor Mb998sp-b Drive Enclosure
3* IBM ServeRAID M1015 SAS/SATA Controller PCI Express 2.0 x8 IBM BULK
3* Generic Intel X520-DA2, Intel X520-DA2 Ethernet Server Adapter (10 Gbps Dual Port E10G42BTDA
2* 10 GB XS708E Netgear Switch
12* 256gb samsung 850 pro

I could get 12 more SSDs in this setup later on if needed. I know it's not the cheapest setup, but since I can just integrate this in my 3 exisiting nodes and eventually if much more resources are needed I could just add new nodes just with RAM and CPU... I guess it could be worth it. Do you guys think this will perform well enough with CEPH and give me enough speed to utilize a 10GB network? I don't want to take the route with 1GB and LACP.

Thx for any suggestions / opinions!

sincerely

these are consumer ssd´s, I suggest you go for the enterprise class (samsung or even better, intel).

e.g. Intel DC S3610 series.

Thanks for the hint. I did actually filter for professional use by the shop, so I guess they got this in the wrong directory. Apart from that, do you think the rest would be worth the investment and speed should be fine?
