OpenVZ machines don't restart

Hey,

Just a quicky... if I shutdown a server (say using shutdown -h now or halt) then the status of that container turns into "mounted". If I restart it (using shutdown -r now or reboot) then the exact same happens and it doesn't come back unless I go in to the Proxmox VE GUI and start it back up again. Any ideas why? I have two installations of Proxmox VE and it occurs on both.

Thanks

Steven

restart is done via cron job, default is 5 minutes so you need to wait.

I've checked that, it doesn't do it after 5 minutes either.

If there a way of making it do it immediately?

which template? (Debian 6 is known to have this issue).

immediately is not possible, but you can adapt the cron job (see /etc/vz/cron/vz)

Hi it would appear this is working now, at 5 minute intervals it starts them up...

Is there a way to make it do this immediately? i.e. something watches the openvz template until it has shut down and then immediately starts it back up?

AFAIK, newer versions of OpenVZ will support that (kernel 2.6.32, latest vzctl).

Is version 2.6.32 of OpenVZ the one your are working on bringing in now? Or another newer, but not as new as that OpenVZ kernel?
