Dear Forum,
I have a datacentre-based Proxmox 1.7 server which has been running OpenVZ VMs with no problems. I have recently tried the KVM part of Proxmox but without success. What happens is, the "kvm" process on the hostnode goes up to 100% CPU usage immediately and stays there, and the VNC console opens, but shows nothing but a black screen. I have to kill the kvm process from the CMD line to get it to stop.
I've tried using both qcow2 and raw disk images, also a working qcow2 image from another working KVM machine (not proxmox), and have tried booting from HD and CD
My Kernel is 2.6.18-4-pve #1 SMP Wed Nov 24 05:32:29 CET 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
My CPU is model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5405 @ 2.00GHz
It has the Intel Virtualisation support on chip.
