openVZ Container 3TB convert to lxc ??

Hello,

first thanks for the new 4.0 Relase. I'm a supscriber and i'love it. but i have a small problem. one container of my virtual openvz containers have disc space 3TB. i'get always a error it is to big for the raw image. how i'can convert the container to lxc ??

Formatting '/var/lib/vz/images/106/vm-106-disk-1.raw', fmt=raw size=3298534883328
TASK ERROR: unable to create image: qemu-img: /var/lib/vz/images/106/vm-106-disk-1.raw: The image size is too large for file format 'raw'

And you have enough free space there? What is the output of

# df -h /var/lib/vz

/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext3 (rw,relatime,data=ordered)
/dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw,relatime,stripe=4,data=ordered)
/dev/sdc1 on /mnt/sdc1 type ext4 (rw,relatime,data=ordered)

/dev/sdc1 is my 4Tb hard disk. and usable in the storage local3 i have there a lxc 105 container with 1700GB diskspace (i'was install the virtual server new)
what will happen if i'try? (vm-105-disk-1.raw at this ext4 harddrive)

pct resize 105 rootfs +1000G

I assume you are trying to do a NAS or something. My setup for this kind of appliance is to keep the "storage" folder outside the containers and do a bind mount inside them. For example, I have two containers, one is the NAS (SMB, FTP, AFP) and the other one is the seedbox. Both are sharing some stuff, so the "storage" folder is outside.

Also, this gives you data protection in case you destroy the containers by accident.

So you only have 210GB free space here.
