Online Migation with AMD faild

Helo together,

we have two Server one with 2x Opteron 4180 and on with 2x 6320 I can migrate from 6320 to 4180 but when I like to migrate back from 4180 to 6320 the migaition fails and the VM crash. There is no error in the Task viewer the VM dont answer any more.

Do anybody has got an Idea why this happens?

What processor type do you use for your VM's?

If CPU and chipset is not identical your best option for processor type is KVM or QEMU. CPU type host is a nogo.

I have the same problem from 63xx to 61xx.
I think it's something in kvm kernel module or qemu-kvm, not filtering specific cpu flag

(To be sure, you don't use cpumodel=host,right ?)

maybe can you try with pve-kernel-3.10, to see if it's help.

Hi,

I use standard KVM64 CPU and I triede some other CPU's as well with the same result. CPU type Host I don't use.

kernel Linux proxmox 3.10.0-3-pve

Could you try QEMU64 instead of KVM64?

QEMU64 is the lowest common denominator.
