NVME Configuration Prevents Proxmox from Booting?

Hello! I have discovered that if I add/move an NVME drive in my host, my Proxmox installation won't boot. Here are the drives I have:

A. USB 500gb SSD (Proxmox install #1)
B. USB 32GB Flash Drive (Proxmox Install #2)
C. 1TB NVME Drive (Storage #1)
D. 2TB NVME Drive (Storage #2)

I originally had drives A and C in my system. It worked well. I then decided to add drive D to that my system included A, C, and D. This prevented my system from booting. I then unplugged and put disk A aside, and installed Proxmox on drive B. My system now had Drives B, C, and D, and it worked well.

I did the above to try and troubleshoot a different issue (gpu passthrough). As GPU passthrough wasn't working, I decided to remove drive D, to now have B and C. At this point, my computer wouldn't boot.

Sorry if that was confusing. Is there a proper way to add an NVME drive to a proxmox host?

Thank you for considering!

you'd need to provide more details (e.g., which storage technologies were in use on which disks, what exactly were the symptoms of "not booting", ...). many storages don't like duplicate IDs (e.g., duplicate PV IDs or VG names for LVM, duplicate pool names for ZFS, ...). could also be that adding the NVME moved your boot disk out of the bootable devices in your BIOS. or ....

Any follow up on this? I'm experiencing the same issue.
NVME 1: Mac OS VM
NVME 2: blank
SSD 1: Mirror 1 ZFS, Promox boot + VM's
SSD 2: Mirror 2 ZFS, Promox boot + VM's

Basically when I remove NVME 2 it boots fine again.

When I mean it doesn't boot, it goes straight to initramfs, with failed to import pool rpool. manually import the pool and exit.

Thanks!
Bryan
