Hi all !

First, sorry for my spelling, not my native language...

I had a personnal server on which I install proxmox 3.3 for testing.
During one week I hadn't any issues, creating VM, rebooting... Everything ok.
Then I decided to install Debian Wheezy to make some other test and then, reinstall Proxmox 3.3 but now it doesn't want to boot (even Proxmox 3.4...) ! I have a blinking underscore instead of GRUB launcher...
I already read a lot of thread about proxmox which doesn't want to boot but I'm not exactly in the same case because Proxmox had boot and now it doesn't wan't !!!
I know I can install Proxmox 3.1 and update it, but I just want to inderstand why the problem happened !!!
I havn't made any change on my hardware or BIOS config since the problem happen... And any other system (Debian, Windows7) work perfectly, only Proxmox give me headache !!

Hardware config :
Motherboard : ASUS H97 PLUS
Processor : INTEL i3 4130
RAM : 8Gb DDR3 (1600 MHz)
HD :
- SSD 64 Gb (PROXMOX)
- HDD 320 Gb (VM, ISO)
- 4 x HDD 1 To (RAID 10) on Silicon Image SATA RAID controller (PCI-e) (PERSONNAL DATA)

BIOS config :
Boot BBS on hard drive (SSD first) then CD drive
CSM enabled, only legacy allow (UEFI tried, same problem...)
Secureboot disabled (obviously ...)

I also tried to disconnect everything but the SSD and the CD drive, still the same...

Anyone had any idea ?
Thanks in advance !

hi

Try booting in Sysrescuecd,chroot and finally repair grub-loader.
Then try to boot again...

Tanks for reply but I've done what you said, same result...

I've notice that when my motherboard try to boot, the screen display the blinking underscore. But if there is no drive to boot on, I'll be redirecting to the BIOS.
And when I try to boot Proxmox, the blinking underscore never disappear...

Yes SSD is the BIOS first boot device...

I notice that Debian detect drive in this order :
sd[abcd] = 4 x 1To
sde = SSD
sdf = HDD DATA
But Proxmox
sda = SSD
sdb = HDD DATA
sd[cdef] = 4 x 1To
In the BIOS, the HDD BBS boot order is:
SSD
HDD DATA
4 x 1To
But even with one only drive, the issue is the same ...

When I install Debian Wheezy (with the same BIOS settings and boot order) there are no problem, grub loading and system booting...

Since yesterday, I tried to clear CMOS, disconnect all HDD and use a new one as only and main drive, and even change the CD drive and the SATA cables, disconnect the PCI-e SATA controller... still the same !!!
I also notice that with the only other drive, there are no blinking underscore, the BIOS is coming like if there is no bootable device...

Does anyone get a ink to download Proxmox 3.1 ? I'm wondering it's the only thing I have to do... Or change motherboard ...

SOLVED !!! I made a BIOS update (release date 2015/02/15) and now, Proxmox 3.x is booting like the first day ^^

Thanks all !!
