It would be good to have ntfy.sh as notification service available as well.
Ntfy.sh is similar to Gotify which is already implemented in Proxmox.

If you are going to add it, then please also add options to allow a basic authentication, since ntfy.sh itself has no user/password authentication and you might put it behind a reverse proxy with basic authentication enabled.

I support this message. ntfy.sh is also a bit more popular than gotify on github, judging by their star ratings.

@fiona
Is it possible that you activate voting for your Bugzilla bugtracking system?
Then you could vote up enhancement proposals and you see which ones are most wanted by the users.
I'm not in charge of that, but I've asked if it that is possible and we'll look into it. Usually the number of people CC-ed to the issue expresses about the same information, so @mcmxvi feel free to do that to express interest.

I don't have experience with the public ntfy endpoint but my selfhosted instance has access control as described in the docs

+1 Yes please! ntfy.sh is already very polular and it would be awesome to be able to use this backend for notificatons in Proxmox.

It would probably better to support more generic protocols, as otherwise poeple want more and more formats, which would add even more work for the proxmox team.

What about supporting things like:
https://github.com/caronc/apprise
https://github.com/containrrr/shoutrrr

In my eyes that would be a better approach.

@fiona Have you yet gotten any feedback ?

ntfy.sh is only a server implementation of the generic UnifiedPush protocol. https://unifiedpush.org/
The first link you provided seems like a very neat piece of software.

Hi,

AFAIU, we'd rather keep using amount of CCs instead of enabling voting in the bug tracker. Still, even if a feature is requested a lot, it doesn't guarantee that it is picked up. That requires a developer in that area finding the time to tackle it.
