I have Proxmox VE 9.1.1 running on an HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF with a Minecraft server VM inside. For some reason, the NIC randomly sleeps after 30min-2hrs of usage. I can't access the web interface, can't access my files also being hosted, can't access the Minecraft server, all until i unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in. Here is what I get after running "ethtool nic0 --show-eee" (with nic0 being my primary NIC)
Code:
root@evsunucusu:~# ethtool nic0 --show-eee
Settings for nic0:

The NIC uses e1000e drivers, and its model is an Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I217-LM (rev 04). Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your NIC is going into some kind of power-saving mode, which is why it becomes unresponsive until you physically reset it. With the Intel I217-LM and e1000e driver, this is often related to Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) or Wake-on-LAN settings. You could try disabling EEE with ethtool -s nic0 eee off and make sure Wake-on-LAN is set to off if not needed. Also, check that the driver is up-to-date—sometimes updating the e1000e module or kernel fixes random sleep issues.

I've already disabled everything related to power saving and Wake on LAN in the BIOS. I've disabled EEE too. This seems to make no changes.
