Hi Proxmox pros !
I'm installing a bare metal Proxmox and having some problems with my Realtek R8126 and R8127 network cards, which are having trouble being recognized by Proxmox VE 9.1.1
Version 9.1.1 uses kernel 6.17.2-1-pve by default and I've tried a lot of fix but nothing works.
I managed to get everything working using a USB-C to RJ45 adapter but this is not the solution.
I changed my kernel to 6.8 and uninstalled the r8169 to replace by r8126 and that works, contrary to default 6.17.2-1-pve. I'm currently unable to get the other card to work (r8127).
My question is : Is it recommended to modify the default kernel and run on 6.8 ? Because I saw online that Proxmox kernels were modified and adapted for virtualized operating systems.
Thanks for your help !

8127 is new and requires kernel 6.16 or higher. I run both an on-board 8127 and a PCIe 4.0 8127 card on Proxmox 9.1.4 kernel 6.17.4-2-pve on my first node and the second node now upgraded to Proxmox 9.1.6 kernel 6.17.13-1-pve. Been stable since I built them in January.

Thanks for your feedback. Where did you take those versions ? Cause the last official source is 9.1.1

RealPjotr which driver are you using? I'm having trouble with my new 8127 NIC not working properly but it seems to be using the R8169 driver out of the box. PVE 9.1.6 with kernel 6.17.13-2-pve.
